Bob McIlhattan teaches pottery through Mt. Hood Community College continuing education. Although he's been making pots since the early 80s, "retiring" from system administration has allowed him to devote more energy and enthusiasm to pottery and kiln building. For the last few years Bob and his friend Ron Linn have been building and learning to fire bourry box wood fired kilns. It has been an odyssey, complete with triumphs and tragedy. Now with a number of firings under their belts they have two working wood fired kilns, a small Soda kiln and a larger train kiln. |
